Lakin Imani Starling is a Philadelphia-raised, Brooklyn-based storyteller with 10 years of experience. Her love for culture and storytelling has led her to roles as a music and culture journalist, senior copywriter, creative content producer, digital showrunner, documentary development writer, video & audio scriptwriter, and more.

Through magazine covers and reported features, Lakin has used her voice to magnify the stories of some of the most influential artists and pop culture moments. She has also worked behind the scenes to write and develop film treatments for documentaries, produce content through research, craft interview questions, shape episode arcs, and source talent.

Lakin has led and developed insight-driven narratives as a senior writer and editorial lead for creative marketing and social campaigns with agencies and brands like Bose, Nike, and Netflix.

In addition to being in the thick of story crafting as a writer, Lakin is also an editorial consultant.
